Ch. 19: Past, Present, Future

Spyro looked around and saw rain.  He noticed the large flying creature he was on.  It had a large shell, and it was because of this that he realized that he was on a leviathan.  He looked up to the sky and saw extremely dark clouds, but they weren't the same as what he saw when the gate opened up earlier.  It was quite windy, and Spyro realized that he was crossing a tropical storm.  He looked to his right and saw Cynder lying down on the leviathan.

Spyro tapped Cynder's body, but she didn't wake up.  He tapped a bit harder, but she didn't move.  He approached her head.  "Cynder?  Are you awake?"  There was no response.

Spyro tried to remember what happened before he passed out.  He remembered seeing a large purple laser shooting out of the gate and a blinding flash of light, but couldn't remember anything else.  He wondered how he and Cynder got on the back of a leviathan, what happened to the gate and why Cynder wouldn't wake up.

"Cynder!"  He started to shake Cynder's body to see if she was even asleep.  Water started to flow out of Cynder's mouth.  "What the…?"  He flipped Cynder over on her back and started to push extremely hard on her chest.  He kept pushing, harder and harder on Cynder, and water started to come out of her mouth.  He kept pushing, and tried to open her mouth to let the water flow out.  He tilted her head on its side to try and get the water to flow out.  He managed to get her mouth open wide enough for the water to flow out with his claw.

Spyro kept pushing on Cynder's chest for a few minutes, but stopped when the water stopped flowing out of her mouth.  Spyro looked at her.  "What happened, Cynder?  Why aren't you waking up?"  He lied down on the leviathan and thought what could've happened when he passed out.  He realized that he probably fell into the water, and it hit him that Cynder dove in after him, saving him.  But he still didn't understand how the leviathan fit into the picture. He thought about the last time he saw a leviathan, and thought that maybe it was all Ignitus' doing.  After all, it would explain Ignitus saying that he and Cynder were safe.

He listened to the rain pouring down on the ocean and himself and looked out towards the horizon where he saw a break in the clouds.  A bolt of lightning struck through the air right in front of the leviathan, temporarily blinding Spyro with its intense brightness.  There was an extremely loud clap of thunder that almost made Spyro's ears ring again.  He heard someone scream and looked to his right to see Cynder wide awake, with extremely bloodshot eyes.  Her veins in her eyes were extremely visible, giving her a very chilling and crazy look about her.  Spyro jolted a little and Cynder started coughing water out of her mouth.

"Cynder!  You're okay!  I was so worried!" screamed Spyro.  He hugged Cynder tightly and water continued to flow out of her mouth.  She tilted her head and spit out the rest of the water in her mouth.

"Spyro?  Is that you?" asked Cynder.
"Yes, of course Cynder.  Is there something wrong?" asked Spyro.
"I can't see…I can't see you" said Cynder.
Spyro stared at Cynder and noticed her eyes weren't looking straight at him.  "It's probably because you almost drowned, I'm sure that your vision will come back soon."  She noticed she was on the leviathan and Spyro was still hugging her.

"I thought something terrible happened to you…" said Cynder
"The Chronicler caused it" said Spyro.  He looked in Cynder's blue eyes and noticed the veins were slowly starting to fade away.

"The Chronicler?  He can cause you to pass out?" asked Cynder.
"Yes.  It is one of his many abilities.  We have to go to the White Isle now to see him" said Spyro.  "He wants to tell us…both of us something."  Spyro thought about telling Cynder that Ignitus was the new Chronicler, but decided to wait, because she had just woken up and already had plenty to think about.

"I hope my vision comes back soon, because I want to see your face again" said Cynder.
"Perhaps this will do for now" said Spyro.  He slowly kissed her wet lips and she slowly closed her eyes.

In Convexity:

Evren walked back and forth in front of the altar and couldn't get his paws to move towards the altar.  'Come on, go in there!  What am I waiting for?'  'I should go back and release him or her from Convexity.'  'But that will require more time from Ash, and I don't want to hurt him anymore.'  'It's either go into Convexity, or go to Ash again.'  Evren continued walking back and forth, but wouldn't get any closer to the altar.

"Crap!  I can't do it!  I guess I'm going to have to go back to Ash."  Evren started to bend space and appeared again in the castle.  He looked around but didn't see Ash.
"If you're looking for Ash, he went upstairs, probably into his room" said a large ape with broad shoulders and armor.

"Thank you, Worr," Evren said, "hopefully you will live up to your father's name"
"I hope Spyro dies a very painful death, just like my father" said Worr.
"If you practice and get stronger, you may be able to avenge your father's death" said Evren, walking off to go up the stairs into Ash's room.  But before he entered Ash's room, he went back into his room to open the chest again to take a crystal out.  It was smaller than the previous crystal that he grabbed from the chest, but it would offer plenty of space.  Ash heard Evren walk by and began to cry.  He knew he would have to go through the same thing again.

Evren slowly walked up to Ash's room, but before he did, he turned back and entered another room, one very close to Ash's, and grabbed a large green crystal.  He exited the room and entered Ash's, where he was lying down on his bed, crying.

"You have to have another crystal, don't you?" asked Ash, sobbing while speaking.
"I'm afraid so, but I don't have to have that much, only a small amount" said Evren.  He showed Ash the smaller crystal in his paw.  He tried to smile but couldn't.

"Why don't you just take all of it?  I don't know if I can stand the pain any longer…I want it all to end" said Ash, starting to cry even more.

"I only need a little bit now, and after that, I may never need it again" said Evren, trying to cheer up Ash.

"How do I know that you won't come to me again and have another crystal in your hand?" asked Ash with tears coming down from his eyes.

"Because I am getting closer to my goal, and I may not need any more help soon" said Evren.
"Just get it over with now" said Ash, ready for the pain.  Evren's eyes started to glow once again and Ash started to scream.  "Aaaaaahhhhhh!!  Make it stop!!  Please, make it stop!!"  The rainbow colored substance started to come out of Ash's body once again and started to fill the crystal.  Evren continued as Ash continued to cry even more, not because of sadness, grief and anxiety, but because of pain.  Little did Ash know that it was the removal of this rainbow colored substance that prevented him from growing and getting bigger and stronger, stunting the growth of his body.

"I beg of you, ahh!  Please!!  Stop!!  Owww!!  Stop!!!"  Ash's pain got worse, but after a few seconds, Evren's eyes started to return back to normal and Ash's substance stopped flowing from his body.  He continued to cry because of the pain, but was able to lie down on his bed.

"I hope this is the last time I have to do this, Ash.  I really do" said Evren.
"Just leave me alone" said Ash.  Evren looked at Ash and put the green crystal next to him before walking out the door.  He started to bend space and arrived where he had been to wash the egg in the past.  He looked around and noticed crystals growing in many different places to the left and the right of the falls.  He looked at the crystal in his paw and saw the rainbow colored substance had filled the smaller crystal about a third of the way, but that was all he would need.  Evren looked around to make sure nobody was nearby and started to transform.  Once again he made awkward sounds and began to appear more feminine, until the end of the transformation, in which she was completely female, except for her mind.  She tapped the crystal 3 times, focused on a time period not too long after she had put the egg in Convexity and vanished.

In the Dragon Realms:

Cyril walked into the large building in the middle of the night, extremely sleepy and not fully thinking of what he was going to do next.  He desperately wanted to drink some water, but there wasn't any water nearby, and he didn't feel like walking over to the edge of the city to get some water.  He looked at the pool of visions, and started to wish the liquid inside was drinkable.  He walked over to the pool and stuck his head inside, not really thinking of anything.  But he wasn't prepared to see what the pool would show him.

Inside the pool of visions, he saw himself looking up to the sky with a bunch of other dragons.  The sky was red, the shade of blood, with no clouds.  Smoke was everywhere and apes were running throughout the city, destroying all the objects and buildings that they could see.  There was a large platform in front of him, but he couldn't see what was inside.  The ground started to shake and he looked at the platform, which didn't have a top.  But something was emerging from the ground.  He looked at himself watch the platform and he saw a purple and black dragon rise slowly.  There were screams and shrieks coming from other dragons, while others began to cry.  On the top of the platform were the dead bodies of Spyro and Cynder.
What's this? The dead bodies of Spyro and Cynder? Now your really wondering how "Bright" this future really is going to be, aren't you? Hopefully this will keep you wondering, because I was lucky to have enough time to type up a chapter on the weekday. I doubt I'll have this much time in the future, so it will probably be a few days before the next chapter comes out. Comments? Please?

hmm, a touch a destiny. Nice.

It seems a bit wierd to me that Spyro thinks about the chronicler when he did. I would think that if he believed Cynder was death then he wouldn''t be thinking about anything else.

Also, I wondered why does Evren change genders anyway?
